THIS WEEK’S 300 GAMES
PHIL CLIFTON: Clifton, a 37-year-old Clinton right-hander, had his second career 300 in the Orthodox Mixed league at Park Centre. Clifton had the 300 in Game 1 of his 750 series He has one career 800 series, an 821 shot last season. He used a Track Kinetic for the game.
JOSH HADDAD: Haddad, a 38-year-old North Canton right-hander, had his 13th career 300 during Saturday’s College Bowl Tournaments scratch singles event at Park Centre Lanes. He shot it in Game 1 of the four-game qualifier, adding 298 in Game 4. He finished in the top four, losing during the semifinals. Haddad finished with 1,024 total pinfall. He has a high scareer series of 830, one of his two career 800 series. “I was just trying to keep up with Tim (Voytko),” said Haddad, who used the Hammer Gauntlet Fury. Voytko also shot 298 that game.
CHRIS ICKES: Ickes, a 60-year-old Massillon right-hander, shot his sixth career 300 in the Hannon Electric league at Park Centre. Ickes had 300 in Game 3 of his 710 series. His high career series is 758 and he used the Storm X Factor Duece for his milestone. “I’m just going to remember that last shot,” Ickes said.
ALEX LINCOLN: Lincoln, a 27-year-old Canton right-hander, had his 16th career 300 game in the Northeast Ohio Travel League at Clutch Lanes and Sports Center in Cuyahoga Falls. He had it in Game 1 of his 747 series. He has a high career series of 824. “I’ll remember tripping a 4-pin in the second frame. That was the worst shot I threw during the game and I got lucky,” said Lincoln, who used a Roto Grip Idol Synergy during the game.
ERIC NORCH: Norch, a 46-year-old North Canton right-hander, had his 42nd 300 during the Pizza Oven Classic league at Park Centre. He had 300 in Game 1 of his 773 series, using a Global 900 Honey Badger Revival. Norch had seven 800 series, including a high of 857. “The 11th frame, I got a little tight with it,” Norch said. “The lanes were finishing strong all night and I had a couple of heavy 4-pin carries. Just had to keep up my speed and hit my mark.”
DANIEL W. SHAUB: Shaub, a 70-year-old North Canton right-hander, shot his first career 300 game in the Hannon Electric league at Park Centre. Shaun had 300 in Game 1 of his 697 series. He has a high career series of 781 and used an Storm IQ Emerald for the milestone. “I felt good the whole game. I was shaking on the approach on my last ball, and I smashed it” Shaub said. “It took 70 years to get my first 300. I can’t believe it.”
NATHAN SOMMERS: Sommers, a 33-year-old Greentown right-hander, had his fifth career 300 in the Pizza Oven Classic league at Park Centre. He had 300 in Game 1 en route to a 684 series. He has one career 800 series, an 805 and used the Roto Grip Idol Helios for the milestone. “Grandma passed away that day,” Sommers said. “I said I was going to throw one for Alice.”
