STARK USBC: KING, PRESUTTI TOP YOUTH TOURNEY
PERRY TWP. — The Perry High School duo of Ami King and Carson Presutti rallied from sitting sixth following two regular games to take first place during Sunday’s Stark USBC Halloween Youth Doubles event at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes.
King, who was an All-Ohio second-team player a year ago for the Panthers after the team finished fourth at the OHSAA State Championships, had games of 179 and 203 in the opening round to lead the pair, who finished with 1,238 after two games, including handicap — 250 pins behind the leaders.
But the pair combined to shoot 911 during the four-game Baker System portion of the event, including shooting 266 in Game 4, to take first place by 79 pins in the 18U division with 2,113 total pinfall.
Carrollton’s Hailee Ulman and Zoey Elliott finished second with 2,034 as Elliott turned in the top girls scratch series with 402. Third place went to Canton’s 14-year-old Gavin Ritter and 9-year-old Landon Beach, who combined for 1,948.
Teams bowled two regular games and four Baker System games. Handicap was given for the opening two games.
A pair of East Canton Middle School students, Emmalee and Kenneth Ford, took honors in the 13U division with 2,048, 56 pins ahead of East Canton’s Dylan Lint and Jackson Township’s Jasper Dingler (1,992).
The event drew 19 teams, with other awards being given for top costumed bowlers.
Chase Wensel turned in the top individual boys scratch series with 445, including 279 in Game 1, and Austin Crowe had 436. Both are from North Canton. The other top girls scratch series came from Logan McDonald with 392.
SMART scholarship money was given to the top three teams in the 18U division and the winner in the three-team 13U division.

USBC EQUIPMENT GIVEAWAY SET
CANTON — The Stark County USBC will be holding another youth bowling equipment giveaway from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 6 at Strike Zone Lanes, 1222 Whipple Ave. NW, in Canton.
The giveaway is limited to junior bowlers in high school or younger, with a limit of one or two items per bowler. It is is first come, first served.
The giveaway will include balls, bags and shoes. The Stark USBC still is looking for donations of balls that are five years old or less of any weight, but particularly 13 pounds or less, bags and shoes to include.

JTBA: MASIANICH, STRONG CAPTURE 18U TITLES
DAYTON — Josh Masianich and Bethany Strong captured 18U division titles during the Junior Tournament Bowlers Association Muskingum University Youth Open on Sunday at Poelking Lanes South.
Masianich defeated top-seeded Hayden Tarris 414-372 to claim honors. Masianich advanced to the title match by stopping No. 7 seed Cameron Kilgore of Massillon 468-400 in the semifinal round, including shooting 269 in Game 1.
Strong took honors by stopping top-seeded Abbie Leiendecker of Wooster in the title match, with third-seeded Emma Yoder, also of Wooster, taking third.
Other winners included: Quinn Dean in the 15U boys division; Kendall Craig in the girls 15U division; and Miles Gordon in the boys 12U division. The event drew 100 entries for the finale until after the high school bowling break.
