Stark USBC changes venues for Open, Women’s championships

CANTON — The Stark County USBC announced Tuesday that its Open and Women’s annual tournaments will be changing sites.

The tourneys, originally scheduled for Strike Zone Lanes, will be moved to AMF Hall of Fame Lanes in Perry Township.

“We are sorry to announce that both City Tournaments will not be held at Strike Zone this year due to circumstances beyond ours and Strike Zone’s control,” according to a Stark USBC statement released on its Facebook page. “Both tournaments, however, will be held at AMF Hall of Fame on the same dates and times listed on the entries.

“If you have already submitted your entry, your spot is confirmed. If for some reason this doesn’t work for you please contact the office by phone or email and we will take care of it for you.”

The women’s championships are set for April 14-15 (team) and April 21-22 (doubles and singles). Entry fee is $75 per team and $60 per player for doubles and singles with a $2 all-events fee.

The men’s championship is set for April 23 trough 28 (team) and April 30 through May 5 (doubles and singles).

Entry fees are the same as the women’s event: $75 for team and $60 per team for singles and doubles with a $2 all-events fee.

Entry blanks are available at area centers or go the Stark County USBC page on Facebook.
