CANTON — The Green High School pair of Elena Hughes and Brooklyn Krager led the 18U field during Sunday’s Stark County USBC Halloween Doubles at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes.
The pair finished with 1,971 total pinfall in the handicap event to take honors in the division and finish 103 pins ahead of second-place Gavin Hentzell and Hayden Lambes (1,868) of Massillon.
The event drew 29 teams and paid out $1,324 in SMART scholarship money to the leaders.
The Massillon team of Addie Russell and Kinsley Pritchett took honors in the 12U division with 2,234, finishing 146 pins ahead of James Wills and Mason Harter of Canton (2,088).
In the 15U division, the team of Massillon’s Caleb Russell and Obed Figueroa topped that division with 2,294, 109 pins ahead of Grafton’s Ariana Fedyszyn and Ondreas Fedyszyn.

TRIWAY LANES: Matt McVicker finished with 958 total pinfall to capture the Sunday Sweeper at Triway Lanes, with Joseph Dejesus finishing second (925) and Vince Yoder (915) taking third in the four-game event. Also, in the Halloween No-Tap event, John Barnard topped the field with 1,151 in the four-game event, including a pair of 300 games, followed by David Keagy (1,142) and Kevin Reese (1,137).
HIT DEM POCKETS: HDP will hold a Sunday Doubles Handicap Sweeper at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at North Woods Lanes in Macedonia. Entry fee is $60 for the handicap event with bowlers rolling six qualifying games to determine the winner. OHIO MATCHPLAY TOURNAMENTS: The OMT’s third anniversary Veterans Day Event is set for 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl in Columbus. Entry fee is $110 with bowlers agent 50 and older rolling five qualifying games. The oil pattern will be a Ohio Matchplay 45-foot pattern.
