H.S. bowling: Two 300s shot in Stark Conference; match results from Dec. 20

The Stark County High School Bowling Conference completed play before the holiday break with a pair of standout individual performances Wednesday.

During a match against Carrollton at Park Centre Lanes in North Canton, North Canton Hoover senior right-hander Connor Lab rolled his first 300 in Game 2 of a 3,151-2,678 victory over the Warriors. Lab opened with a 236 in Game 1.

It marked the first 300 since Connor Sabella had one for the Vikings during the 2021-22 season.

Also, in a match against Lake at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes in Canton, Canton South senior two-handed righty Trevor Gore had 300 in Game 1 of the Wildcats’ 2,507-2,433 loss to Lake.

Gore followed that with 265 for a 565 series, which ties for fifth all-time series with former Perry right-hander Alex Lincoln. The high all-time boys series is Hoover’s Anthony Inzetta with 579, set during the 2013-14 season.

Hoover’s two-game series of 2,299 also ranks fifth all-time in that category in conference history. Triway has the top series of 2,332, set during the 2015-16 season, with the Vikings now occupying the next four spots.

Gore’s 300 was the first in school history for the Wildcats while Lab’s was No. 12 for the Vikings, including two by Preston Vukovich, according to conference records.

With the 300 shot earlier by Massillon’s Nico Fromholtz, the conference now has three this season and 50 overall in the conference’s 22-year history.

The Stark Conference teams now take a break from conference play until resuming play Jan. 3 with two matches.
