CANTON — Perry defended its title while GlenOak was able to put its 2025 performance behind.

Meanwhile, Wadsworth still is looking for its second straight state appearance and Wooster, which had missed by four and 11 pins the last two seasons, finally ended its frustration.

The Panthers will lead four teams to the Division I Northeast District girls high school bowling tournament after running away with Sunday’s Stark sectional title at Eastbury Bowling Center.

Perry, which will be making its 15th straight district trip after claiming its second straight district title, finished with 3,745 total pinfall — 354 pins ahead of second-place Wooster (3,391). The Generals, who missed advancing to district by just four pins a year ago, remained in the top three all day to take the runner-up spot.

They will be joined by Suburban League champion Wadsworth (3,371) and GlenOak (3,188), which had just a five-pin lead heading into the Baker System games after finishing sixth a year ago — 347 pins out of the cut.

The Golden Eagles managed to finish 78 pins ahead of Federal League rival North Canton Hoover (3,110) to secure their spot. They were led by freshman Mikayla Tucker’s 554 series, 497 from Rylee Abbuhl and 491 from junior Kairi Chech.

Perry posted three of the top seven individual scores, including runner-up senior Alex Devore (566), junior Zari Itangata (565) and senior Arielle Clapper (547) to continue its district run after finishing as Division I state runner-up a year ago.

Wadsworth junior Aubrey Masuda shot the only 600 of the event, leading individuals with a 602, including a high game of 225 in Game 1, to lead the Grizzlies. Junior Cassidy Myers also added 543.

Junior Cadence Anna, one of three Wooster individual district qualifiers a year ago, led the Generals with a 557 series. Seniors Ainsley Shetler and Morgan Covey shot 474 and 465, respectively, and 2025 district individual qualifier Mackenzie Jentes had 442.

The top four teams and top four individuals who were not members of advancing teams move on to the Northeast Division I District, set for 10 a.m. Feb. 23 at Rebman Recreation in Lorain. The format was three regular team games and six Baker System games on the OHSAA sectional-district oil pattern.

Louisville sophomore Paige Beard was the top individual qualifier with a 560 series, finishing fourth overall and becoming the first Leopard girl to reach district.

She will be joined by Green senior Brooklyn Krager (534), who will advance as an individual for the first time after being part of the Bulldogs’ state runs the past three seasons; Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary senior Mia Schmokel (507), who also advanced with the Irish as a team last season; and Hoover senior Lana Diehl (502), who will be making her first district appearance.

Perry held a 170-pin lead over Wadsworth after the opening three team games and posted the high Baker series of 1,155 (192.5 average) — 165 pins ahead of the second-high. The Panthers also had the high team game of 873.

There were only two 200 games posted during Bakers in the 15-team field.

BOARDMAN TOPS ROSELAND FIELD

OAKWOOD — Meanwhile, during the Division I boys sectional at Roseland Lanes on Sunday, Boardman led five teams into the Northeast District by topping a 16-team field with 4,141 total pinfall — finishing 258 pins ahead of second-place Twinsburg (3,883).

Also advancing are Austintown Fitch (3,651), Solon (3,614) and Kent Roosevelt (3,594), which finished just 13 pins ahead of Nordonia after a 136 during its final Baker game.

Individual results will be added later when available.
