RENO, Nev. – The members of Bowlers Headquarters of Neenah, Wis., won the Team All-Events title at the 2025 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships by 166 pins, posting the only score north of 10,000 in Baton Rouge, La., and breaking through with a team win after several close calls in the past.

Four of the five teammates – Chad Kloss, James Tucker III, Joseph Vrobel and William Welch – earned their first Eagle with the victory, while 2019 Regular Singles champion Mitch Beasley collected his second title with the group’s performance at the Raising Cane’s River Center.

As a unit, they finished the 2025 event with a 45-game total of 10,053 (223.4 average). Tucker led the run with an all-events total of 2,092 and was followed by Welch (2,057), Kloss (1,987), Beasley (1,971) and Vrobel (1,946) on the way to victory.

The consistency the group has displayed since banding together at the tournament in 2019 had been impressive prior to their showing in 2025, including a runner-up finish in 2021 (Regular Team) and multiple stops in the top 10 for both Regular Team and Team All-Events.

Along with the win in 2025, they also finished fifth in Regular Team (3,242 total), while Beasley and Tucker notched a top 10 in Regular Doubles (seventh with 1,429).

As they prepared to return to the tournament in 2026, they were ready to take another run at the top of the standings and knew they’d be taking the lanes at the National Bowling Stadium without Beasley, who was going to miss the trip to Reno due to injury.

Shortly after the on-lane presentation of the Earl Anthony Trophy prior to their team event Thursday, Kloss, Tucker, Vrobel and Welch joined Jacob Kent to start their 2026 campaign.

Known as Bowlers Headquarters 6 this year, the group proceeded to take the lead in Regular Team with a 3,393 total. American Fleet Inc. # ONE of Springfield, Mo., had held the top spot with 3,372.

Led by Welch’s 732 series, the team put together games of 1,092, 1,179 and 1,122 at the NBS. Kloss added 716, Kent posted 667, Vrobel had 657 and Tucker closed with 621.

Kloss put the exclamation point on the showing in the final game, doubling in the 10th and recording eight pins on his fill ball to secure the top spot.

Returning to the NBS on Friday, the group just missed reclaiming the lead in Team All-Events, settling into second place with 10,125. Armstrong Printing 1 of Naperville, Ill., leads in 2026 with 10,169.

Kloss led the group in Reno with an all-events tally of 2,103, which included a 298 in Game 2 of singles. He was followed by Welch (2,094), Kent (2,025), Vrobel (1,981) and Tucker (1,922).

NEW STANDARD LEADER

Joshua Langholdt of Charter Oak, Iowa, put together the top overall performance in the young history of the Standard Division during his trip to Reno, recording a 2,028 all-events score to take the lead.

The 37-year-old right-hander rolled to sets of 706 in singles, 674 in doubles and 648 in team at the National Bowling Stadium, passing the 1,963 posted by Tommy Tran of Port Arthur, Texas, on April 12. The 706 series also places Langholdt in ninth for Standard Singles.

The previous nine-game record in the division, which debuted at the 2017 USBC Open Championships, belonged to Matt Garcia of Long Beach, Calif.. Garcia posted 2,003 on his way to victory at the 2024 event in Las Vegas.

The impressive showing from Langholdt also marks the third record score of the year in the Standard Division. The members of Expensive Practice of Albuquerque, N.M., lead Standard Team with a record tally of 3,196, while Michael Hunter of Liverpool, N.Y., set the three-game record (768) to take over the top spot in Standard Singles.

Langholdt made his 15th consecutive appearance at the Open Championships in 2026, and his performance highlighted several career highs at the event. His previous high series at the tournament was 656 (team event in 2022), and he cruised past his best all-events score by 247 pins (1,781 in 2022).

The Standard Division features bowlers with entering averages of 161-181.

WOMAN HITS 300

Ingellimar Contreras Beasley of Clarksville, Tenn., rolled a perfect game Friday evening to become the 16th female competitor in tournament history to achieve the feat.

Contreras Beasley, a left-hander originally from Caracas, Venezuela, put together games of 225, 300 and 196 during her doubles set at the National Bowling Stadium for a 721 series. She paired with Denny Montgomery of Oscoda, Mich., to finish with a 1,222 total.

Friday’s performance wasn’t the first time she had delivered some big strikes inside of the Taj Mahal of Tenpins, either. During the Professional Bowlers Association World Series of Bowling VII, Contreras Beasley was the winner of the PBA Women’s Regional Challenge and PBA Challenge Clash at the Kingpin Club, a 10-lane venue on the first floor of the National Bowling Stadium.

She closed her sixth appearance at the USBC Open Championships with sets of 598 in singles and 542 in team for an all-events total of 1,861.

Contreras Beasley’s 300 was the 17th of the 2026 Open Championships, and she joined Josie Barnes of Hermitage, Tenn., with a perfect performance in Reno.

The Open Championships is celebrating its 122nd edition in 2026 and making its 15th trip to Reno, Nevada. The 2026 event is scheduled to feature more than 55,000 bowlers and 11,000 five-player teams competing across 128 consecutive days at the National Bowling Stadium.
