ARLINGTON, Texas – As capacity for the 2027 United States bowling Congress Women’s Championships in Mooresville, N.C., surpasses 85%, the tournament staff has elected to open two additional weeks of squads in July.
The 107th edition of the event now will run from April 18 to July 25 at New Victory Lanes. The tournament originally was scheduled to wrap up July 11.
More than 3,900 four-player teams are registered to compete in the Charlotte suburb, and the 2027 event is trending for the largest turnout at the USBC Women’s Championships since 2017.
The new squads are now available.
In addition to the tournament making its first trek to North Carolina since 2007, next year’s event also will feature new squad times and an adjustment from four bowlers on a pair for doubles and singles to six.
For 2027, the team event will be scheduled at noon and 8 p.m., while doubles and singles will take place at 7:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The 8 p.m. squad will switch daily between team and doubles/singles competition.
TEEN MASTERS CROWNS CHAMPIONS
LANSING, Mich. — Camden Caswell of Owosso, Mich., and Jasmine Grizzle of Broken Arrow, Okla., emerged as champions in the 19U boys and girls divisions, respectively, during the Teen Masters Championships at Royal Scot Golf and Bowl.
The respective fields rolled 24 qualifying games until the field was cut the final day to the top 12 in each division for the final 12 games.
Caswell finished with 8,401 total pinfall over his 36 games to finish 421 pins ahed of second-place Levin Gabrielse. Grizzle finished with 6,738 to finish 48 pins ahead of Briana Provenzano.

PBA CENTRAL: KOVUNIEMI CLAIMS TITLE
ST. JOSEPH, Mich. — Mika Koivuniemi swept past Cory Rockteschel 2-0 to claim the PBA50 Ruth Froberg Memorial Brunswick Central Middle Open on Sunday at Strike’s Bowl.
Koivuniemi had games of 243 and 248 to Rockteschel’s 177 and 222 to claim the win.
Lewis Center’s Dan Higgins finished sixth in the 50-player field with bowlers rolling eight games before the field was cut to the top 16 for match play. Jon Rakoski gained the final qualifying spot with 1,741 (217.6 average), 12 pins ahead of Craig Auerbach. Ron Hurt was the qualifying leader with 1,917 (239.6), finishing 11 pins ahed of Rockteschel. Koivuniemi was the No. 5 seed.
