Bowling notebook: Nagle tourney set in Alliance

The annual Ted Nagle Memorial Tournament is set for 10 a.m. Dec. 19 at Christopher Columbus Lanes in Alliance.

The former Christmas Eve event again will be held at the center, 505 South Liberty Ave., with a $65 entry fee.

Bowlers will roll six qualifying ames over 12 lanes with the top five advancing to the stepladder finals.

College Bowl tourney set Nov. 20

College Bowl Tournaments will hold its next event, a singles tourney, at 10 a.m. Nov. 20 at AMF Hall of Fame.

Bowlers again roll four qualifying games before the field is cut for single-game matches based on number of entries.

Entry fee is $65, with first place paying $500 based on 40 entries.

Bowlers must bowl in four tourney events to qualify for the group’s end-of-season tourney.

Junior-Senior event set in January

An over 50/under 50 doubles tourney is set for 9 a.m. Jan. 23 at Clutch Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls.

Entry fee is $200 per team, with each team having one bowler over age 50 and one under. First place will pay $3,000 based on 48 entries. The field is limited to 48 teams

Turkey shot at Clutch

Clutch Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls will hold its 18th annual Turkey Shootout from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Nov. 24.

Bowlers will pay at $3 fee per attempt and get one ball per lane. To advance, bowlers must have nine or better on each shot. Complete all 24 lanes and receive a share of the entire pot.

If no bowler completes the task, the person who completes the most lanes receives 50 percent of the total pot, with second, third and fourth places also receiving shares.

Christmas Eve on the lanes

Clutch Lanes again will hold its 23rd annual Holiday Scratch Classic at 10 a.m. Dec. 24.

Entry fee is $70 before the event and $80 day of the event with the field limited to 72 bowlers. First place will pay $1,000 based on 60 entries.

Bowles will roll four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top 16 for one-game match-play rounds.
