HALL OF FAME SETS OPEN HOUSE

CANTON — The Greater Canton Amateur Sports Hall of Fame will be holding an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the facility, located at 1414 Market Ave. N.

Attendees will be able to see updates that have been made to the inside and outside of the building. Light refreshments will be served.

The Greater Canton Hall is home to nine amateur halls, including bowling, fumbleball, softball, billiards, baseball, disc golf, fast-pitch softball and swimming .

ALL-STAR YOUTH INVIT SET SUNDAY

PERRY TWP. — Pin Point Youth Bowling Club will be holding its first Pin Point All-Star Invitational at 9 a.m. Sunday at AMF Hall of Fane Lanes.

The event will feature 120 bowlers representing 38 schools from Northeast Ohio. Admission fee is $3.

The five groupings — representing Stark County (two teams), Greater Summit County, North Shore and the Metro Athletic Conference — will divide into two teams following two singles games by every player. Those 10 teams then will bowl five Baker System games. There will be five boys and five girls teams overall.

The teams include the following: 

GIRLS

Stark County No. 1, coached by Brian Baxter and Robyn King; players includes Rachel Young, Kaylie Gibson, Miah Delaney, Alana Stebbins, Tara Oberlin, Daphne Stuber Aubrey Taylor, Kellyn Harsh Zoey Elliott, Natalie Noirot, Joline Greaves.

Stark County No. 2, coached by Dustin Hughes and Lyle Misener; players include Brooke Tucker, Hannah Miller, Jessica Ball, Veda Hughes, Alexis Carper, Averi Hawkins, Elena Hughes, MacKenzie Willoughby, Ami King, Katie Schaar.

MAC, coached by Dennis Huffman; players include Delayna Harvey, Amanda Morton, Zoe Bevilacqua, Natasha Messmore, Libby Remley, Alexis Rose, Rae Ann Hlavarty, Abby Fijakovich, Melaena Martin, Skylar Hustick, Makenzie Robert.

Northshore, coached by Steve Taylor and Robin McQuid; players include Melissa Nunez, Allison Taylor, Hannah Aschenbach, Taylor Raydon, Sabrina Stawicki, Allison Skalba, Kilee Falish.

Several college coaches also will be on hand. Event sponsors include North Star Pro Shop, Recruit US, RKH Coaching, Tom Reid Coaching and Muskingum University.

COLLEGE BOWL TOURNAMENTS SETS DOUBLES

PERRY TWP.  — College Bowl Tournaments will hold a regular scratch doubles event at 10 a.m. Saturday at AMF Hall of Fame.

Entry fee is $120 per team, with teams bowling four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top four for one-game elimination matches with the final two teams bowling for the title.

FURBAY OPEN IS MAY 1

PERRY TWP. — The 20th annual Furbay Electric Open, sponsored by Furbay Electric Supply, is set for 9 a.m. May 1 at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes.

Entry fee is $75 with first place paying $1,000 based on 72 entries. The field is limited to 136 entries. Bowlers will roll five qualifying games before the field is cut to the top 16 (based on 72-player field) for two-game match-play rounds based on seeding leading to the final five advancing to the stepladder finals.
