CHRIS ICKES: A 60-year-old right-hander, Massillon’s Ickes rolled his sixth career 300 game in the Hannon Electric league at Park Centre Lanes. He hit 300 in his final game with the Storm X factor Duece en route to a 710 series. His career high is 758. “I’ll just remember the last shot,” said Ickes.

PBA REGIONAL AT WABASH
NEW PHILADELPHIA — The PBA Wabash Lanes Member-Nonmember Doubles Central Open is set for Sept. 17 and 18 at Wabash Lanes.
The event opens with two eight-game qualifying sessions, beginning at 9 a.m. for A squad and 3 p.m. for B, before the field is cut to the top 12 teams for Sunday’s bracket match play, which begins at 9 a.m.
Among PBA regulars scheduled to compete are PBA50 Player of the Year Parker Bohn III, Graham Fach, Brandon Novak, Patrick Dombrowski and Matt Sanders.
Area players in the field include Joe Altimore III, Andrew Fraleigh, Tony Johnson, Chris Loschetter, Tyron McKinney, Tyler Meredith and Frank Testa.

COLLEGE BOWL TOURNAMENT SERIES RESUMES
NORTH CANTON — College Bowl Tournaments will be holding its first singles event at 10 a.m. Sept. 17 at Park Centre Lanes.
Entry fee is $65, with bowlers rolling four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top eight for single-game elimination matches until champion is crowned. First place will pay $500, based on 40 entries, with one-in-3.5 bowlers cashing.

SPINS BOWL AKRON SWEEPER SERIES
AKRON — The September Spins Bowl Akron scratch singles sweeper is set for 5 p.m. Sept. 25 at Spins Bowl Akron.
Entry fee is $50 per player, with each bowler rolling five qualifying games before the field is cut to the top four for the stepladder finals.
Payouts are one-in-four, with the event bowled on a house oil pattern.
