HDP SETS SCRATCH OPEN

FAIRLAWN — Hit Dem Pockets is holding its third annual Scratch Open at 10 a.m. Oct. 15 at AMF Riviera Lanes.

Entry fee is $100, and the event will be bowled on the 42-foot PBA Scorpion oil pattern. Bowlers will bowl five qualifying games.

Following qualifying the top 16 will advance to the first round of match play. Bowling two-game match play by seed. The field will then be cut to eights for a second round of two-game match play before the final cut to the top four for the stepladder finals.

First place will pay $2,000 based on eight entries, with a 1:5 payout ratio.

COLLEGE BOWL TOURNAMENTS SET DOUBLES EVENT

PERRY TWP. — College Bowl Tournaments will hold its first doubles event of the season at 10 a.m. Oct. 22 at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes.

Doubles teams will rolls four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top four for one-game elimination matches until a champion in determined.

Entry fee is $130 per team, with payouts being 1:3.5. First place will pay $940 based on 24 entries. A portion of each entry goes toward the prize fund for the group’s end of year event.

SPINS BOWL DOUBLES SWEEPER SET

AKRON — A Spins Bowl-Akron doubles sweeper is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at Spins Bowl Akron.

Entry fee is $100 per team, with teams bowling four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top four for a stepladder finals. This is a scratch event bowled on a house oil pattern, with 1:4 cashing.

USBC SUMMIT SETS YOUTH EVENT

Summit County USBC will be hold singles and doubles youth tournament at Clutch Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls and AMF Riviera Lanes in Fairlawn..

The singles event is set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27, 1 p[.m. Oct. 29 and 1 p.m. Oct. 30, with a $20 entry fee ($5 option scratch additional fee) at Clutch Lanes Competition will be in five age divisions, with bowlers selecting one shift to bowl.

Bowlers will roll three games in the handicap event, with scholarships being awarded on a 1:7 basis.

The doubles event is set for 1 p.m. Nov. 5 and 6 at AMF Riviera Lanes, with the tourney fee being $40 per team ($20 per bowler) for the handicap event. Competition will be in five age divisions with an optional scratch division. Teams also will bowl three games.
