SOB Honor Roll for Oct. 24

THIS WEEK’S 300 GAMES

MARK BERGERT: Bergert, a 54-year-old North Canton right-hander, had his first career sanctioned 300, his second overall, in the Hosner Carper Senior Trio league at Park Centre. Bergert had his 300 in Game 1 of his 681 series. He has a high career series of 770, and used a Storm Axiom for his milestone. “A guy on the other team told me to ‘keep it going’ towards the end,” Bergert said. “That was great compared to no one saying anything.”

DAN BERGMAN: Bergman, a 64-year-old Minerva right-hander, had his fifth career 300 at Minerva Bowl. He hit 300 in Game 3 of his 657 series in the Keister’s Plumbing Mixed league, and owns a career-high of 802. He used a Columbia Absolute Hook for his milestone. “I missed my mark five times, but the ball still made it back to the pocket,” Bergman said.

JASON BUTZER. Butzer, a 28-year-old Norton right-hander, had his second career 300 in the Foxfire Lounge Mixed Classic league at Park Centre. Butzer hit 300 in Game 2 of 751 series. He has a career high of 769 and used a Storm Dark Code for his milestone. “I’ll remember the light 10-pin falling for that 300,” Butzer said.

JOE DEPALMO. DePalmo, a 73-year-old Perry Township right-hander, shot his third career 300 in the Foxfire Lounge Mixed Classic league at Park Centre. DePalmo had 300 in Game 3 of his 781 series. He has a career high series of 801 and used a Hammer Scorpion for his latest milestone. “After my only open frame in the first game, I moved a couple of boards left and was able to stay there all night. I always said I would never have a 300 at Park Centre because of the 10-pin. But I only left one 10-pin all night, and it was on the fill ball of the second game,” DePalmo said. “All 12 shots were flush in the pocket. My biggest thrill was the look of elation on my wife’s face as she came on the approach to give me a big hug and kiss. What a way to celebrate my 50th year of bowling.”
