H.S. bowling: College scholarships available through USBC; SCHSBC statistics

CANTON — The Stark County USBC and Ohio State USBC have scholarships available for high school students.

The Ohio State USBC will award a $3,000 scholarship to one male and one female for the 2022-23 academic school year.

In the past three years, two Stsrk County women — Jackson High School’s Kailey Bonniwell and Perry’s Hannah Miller — received this state award.

In addition, the Stark County USBC will award the following $500 scholarships:

  • Lena Bennett & Ed Deskin Memorial for superior performance and excellence;
  • Dick Moecia Scholarship Award for performance and excellence;
  • Stark County USBC Scholarship for performance and excellence;
  • Stark County USBC Presidents Award for leadership and sportsmanship;
  • Stark County USBC-SCHSBC Scholarship, open to members of the Stark County High School Bowling Conference; and 
  • Stark County USBC-Massillon Scholarship, open to students residing west of Perry Drive and  east of the Wayne County line (one girl and one boy).

Deadline for the state scholarship is March 15.
