TOURNAMENT: Easton, Schaub, Krezer top junior-junior-senior event at Lex
LEXINGTON — The 2022 runner-up team of Charles Easton, Cassidy Schaub and Brian Kretzer topped the field during Saturday’s Junior-Junior-Senior Pro Core Health Brokers Tournament at Lex Lanes.
Easton, Schaub and Kretzer, second-seeded entering the stepladder finals in the 30-team field, defeated top-seeded Butch Ferrell, Adam Barta and Ryan Liederbach 771-739 to claim the title and the $4,500 top check.
Easton, Schaub and Kretzer advanced to the title match with a 716-650 victory in the semifinal against No. 3 seed and defending champions Matt Frock, Curtis Brown Jr. and Bobby Wenger.
The winners took control of the match in the ninth frame to secure the victory.
In the opening match, the team of Michael Haggitt, Jeremy Saccone and Joel Ray defeated tournament host Jody Boyd, Troy Jarrett and Joel Butt 714-649.
In the quarterfinals, Frock, Brown and Wenger each struck on all three of their shots in the 10th frame to edge Haggitt, Saccone and Ray 730-729.
Individually, Ryan Ashby had the top qualifying performance with 1,275 total pinfall, an average of 255, with Liederbach taking second with 1,262.
It took 3,502 total pinfall to gain the final cash spot in sixth, with a mark of 3,521 to make the cut for the stepladder finals.
Wenger, Frock and Brown turned in the high game of the five-game qualifier with 790.
Ferrell, Barta and Liederbach topped the qualifying round with 3,646, 50 pins ahead of Kretzer, Easton and Schaub.

JUNIORS: Summit USBC hold scholarship tournament
FAIRLAWN — A total of 71 teams were in the field, competing in three divisions, during the recent Summit County USBC Junior-Adult Fundraiser tournament at AMF Riviera Lanes.
Divisions were according to averages for junior players, with Divisions A (181 plus), B (141-180) and C (0-140) competing in the handicap event.
In Division A, the team of Charles Franchetti and Caleb Shovestull topped the field with 1,286, just 15 pins ahead of Hayden Mohlmaaster and Jason Sollars (1,271), with Wade Allen and Doug Rich (1,253) taking third.
In Division B, Aiden Chetto and Justin James finished with 1,508 to finish 49 pins ahead of Sebastian Dunn and Chris McCarty (1,459), with Gabriella Riba and Frank Riba Jr. (1,451) taking third.
Michael Lopez and Christoper Lopez topped Division C (1,503), with Payton Taylor and Joe Taylor taking second (1,467) and Marilou Garrett-like and Morgan Fike (1,443) finishing third.
UPCOMING EVENTS: College Bowl Tournaments holds doubles
CANTON — College Bowl Tournaments will hold a doubles tournament at 10 a.m. April 15 at Eastbury Bowling Center.
Entry fee is $130, with teams rolling four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top four for single-game match play elimination. First place is worth $940, based on 24 teams.
Bowlers who have bowled at least three College Bowl events must bowl this one to be eligible for the end-of-season tournament, set for May 13 at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes.
