PBA REGIONAL: Fach claims 12th regional title
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Top qualifier Graham Fach went unbeaten in match play with a 6-0 record to capture his 12th career PBA regional title during the PBA Bowlero/Evansville Central-Midwest Open on Saturday at AMF Arc Lanes.
The Urbana left-hander averaged 237.29 during tournament play to claim the title after averaging 235.75 during the eight-game qualifying round of the one-day event.
Sweden’s Kim Bolleby was second, followed by Finland’s Tomas Kayhko in third. Among area players, Northfield’s Ryan Liederbach made the cut to the top 16 and finished 15th.
Fach rolled 300 during the single-elimination match-play round, and Michael Schlabach also had a 300.
Joseph Grondin earned the final match-play spot with 1,667, just 11 pins ahed of Joshua Baumstark in the 71-player field.
The next event in the Central Region is the PBA50 Aston Recreation Open, set for May 5 through 7 in Jasper, Ind.

JUNIOR BOWLING: Pin Point holds second NEO All-Star Invitational
LORAIN — More than 100 bowlers competed as Pin Point Youth Bowling Club held its 2023 Northeast Ohio All-Star Invitational recently at Rebman Recreation Center.
The event featured bowlers representing five Northeast Ohio high school bowling conferences — Suburban, Stark County, North Shore, Metro Athletic and Cardinal . Eight respresentatives from colleges and recruiting services also were on hand to observe the action.
Bowlers rolled both single and Baker System games on the Kegel Broadway Challenge oil pattern.
On the boys side, Nordonia’s Kyan Freyhauf rolled a high two-game series of 480 to earn top honors. On the girls side, Amherst Steele’s Hannah Aschenbach earned the high game award with 246, and Ashland’s Jada Baker had the high two-game series of 420.
In the boys division, the Suburban League took honors with 5,702, followed by North Shore (5,651), Ohio Cardinal (5,411), Metro Athletic (5,390) and Stark (5,370).
In the girls division, North Shore topped the field with 5,211, followed by Metro Athletic (4,558), Stark (4,420) and Ohio Cardinal (4,390).
Other top boys series included Dominic Catanese (North .Royalton) 466; Grant Taylor (Amherst Steele) 451; Kevin Robbins (Ravenna) 437; and Bryce Lewin (Nordonia)436
Other top girls series included Allison Taylor (Amherst Steele) 418; Emily Bartley (Springfield) 402; Aschenbach 401; and Kilee Falish (Avon) 380.

STARK USBC: Youth-adult tournament set May 7
CANTON — The Stark County USBC will hold a junior-adult Spring scholarship tournament May 7 at Park Centre Lanes.
Entry fee is $50 per team, with shift times at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.. Competition will be in four divisions, including bantam (ages 5-8), preps (ages 9-11), juniors (ages 12-14) and seniors-majors (ages 15-17).
Bowlers will roll a three-game series, with all proceeds benefitting the the Stark County USBC Scholarship Fund. Awards will be in the form of scholarships for youth bowlers.
