TOURNAMENTS: Leasure Skills Challenge set May 20-21
ALLIANCE — The second annual Al Leasure Skills Challenge will be held at the four-lane Al Leasure Lanes inside American Legion Post 166.
Maximum fields both days is 20 bowlers, with Saturday having a 6:30 p.m. start time and a a 4:15 p.m. start time Sunday with a $60 entry fee.
Bowlers each shift will bowl four games using both pairs.
Proceeds from the event will be used to upgrade new monitors for the center, with first place paying $800 based on 40 bowlers.
Different oil patterns will be employed on each lane, with practice beginning 15 minutes before each shift, and each bowler will be permitted to practice on all four lanes. A $40 bonus will be paid for the high game bowled on the reverse pattern.
First place last season went to Alliance’s Kevin Schott, who shot 799 for the four games. There are openings available for both Saturday and Sunday for the scratch event.

YOUTH BOWLING: Pepsi state tourney completes play
DAYTON — The Ohio State USBC completed play in the Ohio State USBC State Pepsi Tournament on May 7 at Beaver Vu Bowl in Dayton.
The handicap and scratch event was contested over two weekends, including district qualifiers from five districts throughout Ohio.

TOURNAMENT: Hall of Fame sets Summer Series
CANTON — The Hall of Fame Summer Series returns for his second season, with its first event set for 7 p.m. May 25 at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes.
Entry fee is $45, with first place paying $300 based on 50 entries. Each event will present a challenging oil pattern, with bowlers rolling four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top five for the stepladder finals.
The first pattern will be the U.S. Open Pattern No. 1. A practice session will be available from 6 to 10 p.m. May 18 on the pattern.

TOURNAMENT: Akron Scratch Doubles Sweeper set May 21
AKRON — Spins Bowl Akron will host its monthly Scratch Doubles Sweeper at 6 p.m. May 21.
Entry fee is $110, with doubles teams rolling four qualifying games on the house oil condition, moving after each game, with the field then being cut to the top four for the stepladder finals.
