PWBA: Bolton claims regional title
PARMA HEIGHTS — Riverview, Fla., right-harder Elise Bolton captured her second Cleveland area Professional Women’s Bowling Association regional title Sunday during the PWBA regional at Yorktown Lanes.
Bolton topped nonmember Alexis Cloud of Cleveland 228-197 to claim the $2,000 top prize.
Bolton topped the 99-player field during the eight-game qualifier with 1,775, just 32 pins ahead of Chagrin Falls’ nonmember Jenna Stretch (1,743). Stretch, the No. 2 seed, was beaten by Cloud 181-178 during the semifinals of the four-person stepladder finals.
Cloud, the No. 4 seed after reaching the finals by just two pins over Wichita, Kan., right-hander Kayla Bandy, topped Haley Richard of Tipton, Mich., 202-190 in the opening stepladder match.

OHIO STATE USBC: Farmer takes third in Buckeye All-Events
COLUMBUS — Canton’s Matthew Farmer shot 966, including handicap, to finish third in the Ohio State USBC’s Buckeye All-Events tournament at HP Lanes.
The tourney was open to all-events champions among Ohio State USBC affiliated local associations.
Ravenna’s Heather Wolfe finished fifth in the women’s handicap division, and Stow’s Andrew Monroe was second in the men’s handicap division ahead of Farmer.
