TOURNAMENTS: Field set for Hall of Fame Series finale
CANTON — Tournament director TJ Owens has announced the final 32-player field for the second annual Hall of Fame Summer Series finale, set for 7 p.m. Thursday at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes.
The field includes the winners of the six regular events, the top 20 points leaders and those who earned spots through drawings held during the events.
J.D. Jones, who captured one event this season after winning three a year ago, leads the points list with 112, five points ahead of Jim Fellows. The final qualifier was Averi Hawkins with 26 total points. A total of 57 bowlers participated overall during the six events.
Check-in for the Aug. 10 event begins at 7 p.m., with entry fee remaining $45. Bowlers will roll four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top five for the stepladder finals.
First place will be worth over $900 with the help of sponsor Jimbo’s Landscaping.
The oil pattern will be the 2023 U.S Open Pattern No. 1 from the first regular event that had the lowest field average of a 166.75. For information, contact Owens at 330-477-7226, via email at towens@amf.com or on Facebook.

LEAGUE: Northeast Ohio Travel League sets schedule
CANTON — The Northeast Ohio Travel League will begin is 2022-23 season at 8 p.m. Sept. 7 at Park Centre Lanes with 16 trio teams.
Centers being used this season include Clutch Lanes, Wabash Lanes, Wayne Lanes, Spins Bowl Kent, Spins Bowl Akron, Eastbury, with Apollo 3 (the former Turkeyfoot) being added to the schedule for four dates.
The leagues bowls Thursdays, with starting times ranging from 8 to 9:30 p.m. for 30 weeks, with the rolloff set for April 18 at a site to be determined. See the complete schedule below:
TOURNAMENT: High school alumni tournament returns
NORTH CANTON — The Stark County High School Bowling Conference Alumni Tournament will return at 11 a.m. Oct. 22 at Park Centre Lanes.
This is open to all high schools in Ohio. Bowlers on a team may bowl if he/she coached, graduated or attended the same high school. Those who did not grow up in Ohio may bowl for their current school districts.
Entry fee is $170 per team of up to six players and is for adults only. Based on a 32-team full field, bowlers will bowl 12 Baker System games over six pairs before the field is cut to the top eight teams for best three-of-five match play by seed until two teams remain to bowl for the title.
A second-chance tourney also will be held for teams not making the cut in a winner-take-all event.
First place overall will pay $1,000, based on a 32-team field.
