WOOSTER — The four-man team of Ray Cook, Gary Brobson, Nick Patterson and Dayton Shepherd took honors during the Mix It Up 2 In 1 tournament Wednesday at Triway Lanes.
Jonathan Caugherty shot 1,048 during the four qualifying game to take honors in the singles portion of the event, which had separate prize funds for team and singles for those who paid the extra fee.
The winners were the No. 4 seed coming into the stepladder finals of the four-game qualifier.
The remainder of the top five teams, in order, were:
2, Chris Steele, Les Mann, Kevin Cowper, Caugherty;
3, Vince Yoder, Dennis McGrath, Derek Duncan, Gordon Jackson;
4, Tim Voytko, Eric Bator, Casey Cohagan, DJ Assaf.
The remainder of the top five in singles included Bator 998, Steele 980, Cook 958 and Matt Frock 944.

HDP: Hit Dem Pockets has announced that it is canceling its Sunday Sweeper events for the remainder of 2023. “We will re-evaluate things after the new year to see if we will resume them,” HDP posted on its Facebook page. The next HDP event is the annual MLK Tournament, set for Jan. 13-15. Details will be available soon.
NAGLE MEMORIAL: The Ted Nagle Memorial Tournament is set for 10 a.m. Dec. 17 at Christopher Columbus Lanes in Alliance. LEGACY LANES: Chris Emig topped Legacy Lanes’ second annual Turkey Shoot Sweeper in Coshocton. The remainder of the top five include Steve Hull, Roger Adams, Tyler Berger and Shan Smith. The center will be hosting a singles no-tap sweeper at 1 p.m. Dec. 10 with a $30 entry fee. This is a handicap event with bowlers rolling a four-game qualifier before the field is cu to the stepladder finals. CLUTCH LANES: Clutch Lanes and Sports Center will hold its 25th annual Holiday Scratch Classic at 10 a.m. Dec. 24 at the center in Cuyahoga Falls. Entry fee is $70 pre-pay and $80 the day of the event with bowlers rolling four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top 16 for single-game elimination match play by seed. OHIO MATCHPLAY: Ohio Matchplay Tournaments, open to bowlers age 50 and older, will hold its third annual Christmas Shootout at noon Dec. 9 at HP Lanes in Columbus. Entry fee is $110 for event, with a portion of the entry fees going toward the group’s season-ending event. Bowlers roll five qualifying games before the field is cut for match play.
