The Ashland High School boys bowling team set a state and national record for high school bowling Thursday during a match against Wooster in the Ohio Cardinal Conference at Luray Lanes in Ashland.
The team of Brantyn Long, Landon Dreibelbis, Luke Rine, Mikey McKinney and Max Oaken finished Game 1 with 1,345 total pinfall to set both marks, according to U.S. High School Bowling. Foundation. Dreibelbis and Long both shot 300 during that game.
The complete series for the boys were Long 300-244; Dreibelbis 300-214; Rine 279-223; McKinney 218-244 and Oaken 248-192.
The Arrows topped Wooster 2,815-2,129 in the match, throwing Baker games of 185 and 168 after their huge two-game series.
