H.S. bowling: East Canton’s Lint sets school marks; matches from Feb. 1

NEWCOMERSTOWN — During the first year for high school bowling in the Inter-Valley Conference, East Canton sophomore Madison Lint has set the standard early.

Lint broke a pair of Hornets’ girls school records Thursday in a match against Newcomerstown at Cy Young Lanes, rolling a 278 in Game 1 and then finishing with 257 for a 535 series.

The previous school series record of 475 was set by Maria Dimos during the 2015-16 season. East Canton, a former member of the Stark County Conference, withdrew this season after the IVC decided to add bowling as a conference sport.

East Canton won the match 2,299-1,366, with Logan McDonald also shooting 364 for the Hornets.
