SOB Honor Roll: Milestones for Week 15

Here is our 14th honor roll for the 2023-24 fall-winter bowling season. We may have missed a few during this five-week break. 300 GAMES

JEFF MOWLS: The 57-year-old Plain Township left-hander and Paarlo Plastics employee had his 44th career 300 in the Hannon Electric league at Park Centre. He his 300 in Game. Of his 731 series using a Storm Absolute Power. “Dan Block says to leave a 7-10 on the fill ball. The other team was ready to beat him up,” Mowls said. “Now that’s funny.”

MIKE SPITALE JR.: The 62-year-old Canton right-hander had his 49th career 300 in the Pizza Oven Classic league at Park Centre. Spitale shot 300 in Game 1 of his 772 series using an Ebonite GB4. He is a manager for Van’s Tire Pros.

TONY IMPAGLIOZZA: The 41-year-old Canton right-hander, who is an optician, had his seventh career 300 in the Pizza Oven Classic at Park Centre. He hit 300 in Game 3 off his 725 series using a Global 800 Honey Badger. “Prior to bowling, Eric Long and Mike Emerick were saying that I should purchase a new ball. I rarely buy balls new in the box,” Impagliozza said. “The Honey Badger was released in the summer of 2017 and I got it in 2020. The ball just matched up good with the transition and it carried all 12 shots.”

GARY LIBER: The 57-year-old Jackson Township left-hander, who is semi-retired by works part-time at Keenan Advantage and is an assistant coach for the Jackson High School bowling team, shot 300 in Game 1 of his 728 series in the Pizza Oven Classic at Park Centre. He had “over 15” 300 games and “over 10” 800 series with a high of 823. He used the Storm Summit Peak for his milestone. “I pulled the second shot in the 10th frame and it went Brooklyn. But the 12th shot was flush,” Liber said.
