DAYTON — The team of Drew Damron and Rusty Walter shot 408 in the final round to go from the No. 9 seed to capturing Sunday’s Midwest USA Adult-Junior Doubles Championship at Beaver-Vu Bowl.
The event featured competition in two divisions (18U and 14U), with 120 teams participating.
Teams bowled four qualifying games before the respective fields were cut for rounds of Baker System two-player games, with four teams being eliminated during each round. Twelve teams advanced to the finals in the 14U division and 18 in the 18U division with four round of Baker System play being held in the latter.
The team of Carson and Brent Shroyer finished second after being seeded fifth.
In the 14U division, the team of Charles Himes and Ben Kight topped the field by shooting 408 in the final round, with Andrew Parker and Brendan Salo finishing second (379).
Individually, Lake High School’s Zachary Abbott had the top individual youth series with 957 in the boys division, with Bethany Strong topping the girls with 949, Eddie Krofcheck was high in the boys 14U with 936, and Brynly Huber topped the girls with 759.

PBA-PBA50 QUALIFIER
LORAIN — Rebman Recreation will be hosting a second PBA-PBA50 Ohio Lottery Qualifier at 9 a.m. April 7.
Entry fee is $90, with 1-in-5 bowlers receiving a free entry into either the PBA50 Regional, set for April 25-26 or the PBA Regional, west for April 20-21. The initial qualifier awarded 12 free entries, valued at $310.
Bowlers will roll five games with scratch total pins deciding final placement. Bowlers will be rolling on the PBA Chameleon oil pattern.

COLLEGE BOWL TOURNAMENTS
The next College Bowl Tournaments event is a regular doubles, set for 10 a.m. April 13 at Park Centre Lanes. Entry fee is $130, with teams rolling four qualifying games before the field is cut to the top four for match play. This is the final tournament before the group’s singles finale, which is open only to players who have participated in at least four events this season. STARK COUNTY USBC OPEN
The Stark County USBC will be holdings it open and women’s championships from April 19 through May 6 at Park Centre Lanes in North Canton. This is a handicapped event.
The women’s event is April 19 and 20 (five-woman team) and April 26 and 27 (doubles and singles) Entry fee is $20 per event, with a $2 additional all-events fee.
The open event is April 28 through May 3 (team event) and May 5 through 10 (singles and doubles). Entry fees are the same for the open championships.

TRIWAY LANES: Triway Lanes will hold a King of the Hill tournament at 7 p.m. May 10. Entry fee is $40 for the scratch event to be bowled on a modified house oil pattern. Bowlers will roll four qualifying games. The top four to 16 (depending on field size) advance to single elimination match play until one remains. LEGACY CHALLENGE: Legacy Lanes and Lounge in Coshocton will be holding a Summer Sport Shot Challenge on Sundays, beginning April 28. The event is open to adult and youth bowlers, with a $10 entry fee for youth and $20 for adults. They will be handicapped events, with bowlers rolling three games. Cash prizes will be paid weekly for adults, with different patterns each week. The youth challenge will be at 3:30 p.m.; adults will bowl at 5:30 p.m. Also, Legacy will be hosting a handicap trios tournament at 11 a.m. April 21, with a $210 entry fee per team. FURBAY OPEN : The 22nd annual Furbay Electric Open is set fro 9 a.m. May 5 at Bowlero Hall of Fame Lanes. Entry fee for the event is $80, with bowlers rolling five qualifying games before the field is cut to the top 16 (72-player field) or 20 (if 80 or more) for rounds of two-game match play until either four or five remain for a traditional stepladder finals. PBA TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS PRO-AM: AMF Riviera Lanes will be hosting the PBA Tournament of Champions the week of April 21, with the pro-am for the event scheuled for April 27. Four options are available for the pro-am, ranging from $89 to $209. Bowlers will roll three games with three different PBA pros, receiving strikes in the third, sixth and ninth frames. Scores will be combined with pros’ scores for final placements. This is a handicapped event.

OHIO MASTERS: The 2024 Bowler X Ohio Masters will be held Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 at Eastbury Bowling Center in Canton. The event is open only to adult bowlers sanctioned in Ohio. No youth bowlers are permitted to enter. Entry fee is $100. Bowlers will bowl five qualifying games beginning at 11 a.m. Aug. 31. The field then will be cut to the top 50 percent of the field, which will bowl five additional games at 5:30 p.m. with pins from the early block carrying over. The field then will be cut again to the top 32 (based on 120 entries) for single-elimination, two-game match play by seed until a champion is declared. The field is limited to 128 players.
