Tournament report: Duff captures Ohio Queens; HDP results from bonus events

FAIRFIELD — Dayton’s Megan Duff captured the 60th Ohio USBC Ohio Queens tournament Sunday with a 228-212 victory over Cleveland’s Alexis Cloud in the title match.

Duff, the No. 1 seed for the stepladder finals, also shot a 300 game during Sunday’s Round of 16 match play at Rollhouse Fairfield.

She joins her mother, Hall of Famer Linda Kelley, as Ohio Queens champions.

Cloud advanced to the title match by stopping 2024 Ohio Queens champion Melissa Voytko of Brunswick 223-220 in the semifinal match. Voytko had stopped Painesville’s Marrisa Allison 223-186 during the quarterfinal match.

In the opening match, Allison stopped No. 5 seed Sierra Kanemoto of Dayton 244-215.

The tournament began with a 58-player field on Saturday before it was cut to the top 29 following the opening six games. After six more games Saturday evening, the field was cut to the final 16 for double-elimination match play on Sunday.

HDP TOURNEY UPDATES

The remainder of the special events for the 10th annual Hit Dem Pockets MLK Classic Tournament have released their unofficial results

Charmaine Allen topped the ladies bonus division with 737 for a three-game series pus handicap, with Judy King (698) and Laticia Hudson third (689).

Romeo Coleman took the top two spots in bonus seniors with 765 and 728, with Mike Large third (722).

In the bonus scratch division, Kyle Kalinowski topped the field with 748, followed by ?Anthony Lewis (740) and Kyle Bacher (733).

Official results will be revealed later in the week.
