H.S. report: OCC announces all-league teams; match results for Feb. 6-7

Ashland High School senior Aubrie Cooke and junior Landon Dreibebis were named bowlers of the year as the Ohio Cardinal Conference announced its all-league teams recently.

The Arrows boys and girls teams earned conference titles in the six-team conference, with the boys finishing with 18 points (based on conference match play and tournament finishes) and the girls with 16.

Lexington girls coach Jason Whitesel was selected as coach of the year in a vote among the league’s coaches while New Philadelphia’s Jeff Locker took the boys honor. Both teams finished third in their respective divisions.

Cooke topped the girls with a193 points to honors. She led with a 19.0 average.

First-team girls members included Wosoter sophomore MacKenzie Jentes, West Holmes junior Aubree Young, Ashland seniors Amelia Brown and Haley Rowe and Lexington senior Malaina Wolfe.

Dreibilbis led the boys with a 236 average and 240 pulls.

In the boys division, Ashland placed three players on the first team, including juniors Max Oaken and Mikey McKinney and senior Brantyn Long. Other first team members sere New Philadelphia junior Landon LaBiche and Lexington senior Bailey Carmichael.

Dover will be entering the conference for the 2025-26 season.
