ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Warsaw River View led six district qualifying teams following Tuesday’s East District Division II girls high school bowling sectional tournament at St. Clair Lanes.
River View led qualifying the field with 3,211 total pinfall, including a high Baker System block of 913 (152.16 average). The Black Bears will be joined by Minerva (3,204), Carrollton (3,117), East Liverpool (3,105), Garaway (3,064) and Barnesville (2,892) in the 23-team field.
The tournament was divided into two shifts, with 14 teams in the first shift and 12 in the second (including individuals). Two teams advanced from the first shift and four from the second.
Teams bowled three regular games and six Baker games on the 2025 OHSAA sectional-district pattern. Two teams bowled per pair, and remained on their same during regular games before moving for Baker games.
Minerva led after the opening three regular games with 2,310. East Liverpool had the high game game of 871, with Garaway being the only other team to break 800 (807).
Sophomore Karley Stocker led the Bears with a 534 series and freshman Morgan Rowe added 512. The Bears have just one senior in their starting lineup.
East Liverpool senior Addison Rudibaugh was the top individual with 588, posting the high girls game of 214. Stocker was second, followed by a pair of Minerva players — seniors Jadynn Thompson (513) and Kayla Henderhan (512) — along with Rowe. Eight players shot 500 or higher.
Individual qualifiers included Ridgewood junior Kaydence Lahna (506), Buckeye Local junior Olivia Takach (505), Conotton Valley senior Mylie Galigher (502), Harrison Central senior Tylynn Smith (481), Ridgewood senior Kaylee Kunze (462) and Sandy Valley senior Addison Selby (452), who gained the final spot by four pins.
The Division II district, which will include only these sectional advancers, is set for 10 a.m. Feb. 20 at Legacy Lanes and Lounge in Coshocton.

TCC BAKER TOURNAMENT: The River View girls and New Philadelphia boys took titles during Saturday’s Tuscarawas Central Catholic Baker Tournament at Wabash Lanes in New Philadelphia. Runners-up were Dover for the girls and Indian Valley for the boys. River View’s girls topped the Tornadoes 3-1 in the best-of-five Baker System finals for the title. Overall scores were not available. The Quakers boys swept past Indian Valley 3-0. There were 20 teams in the overall field. Other results were not available.
