CANTON — As of March 12, there are 56 entries for the 23rd annual Furbay Electric Open, set for 9 a.m. May 4 at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes.
Entry fee is $80, with the field limited to 138 entries. First place will pay $1,000, based on 72 entries.
Bowlers will roll five qualifying games before the field is cut to the top 16 (or 20 if there are more than 20 participants) for games of two-game match play by seed. Winners then advance to a second round of two-game match play before the field is cut to either four or five for a single-game stepladder finals.
Tourney will be bowled on the Furbay oil pattern. The event is open to adult and youth bowlers.

HDP DOUBLES: Hit Dem Pockets will hold another in its series of handicap doubles sweepers at 6 p.m. March 16 at North Woods Lanes in Macedonia. Entry fee is $60 per player or $120 per team, with teams each bowling five qualifying games. High team games in each game will bowl a one-game bonus round for additional money. MARCH MADNESS: The Creative Touch March Madness tournament, set for 9 a.m. March 23 at Clutch Lanes and Sports Center, is sold out with a waiting list being started Entry fee is $100, with first place paying $2,000, based on 64 bowlers. Bowlers will roll three games to determine placement into the round of 64 for two-game bracket match play based on total pinfall. BOWLER HQ EVENT: Bowler HQ and TMT Bowling are holding the Ebonite Spring Scratch Extravaganza on May 3 and 4 at Gilmore Lanes in Fairfield. Entry fee is $100, with shifts of 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. available on Day 1. Bowlers will fall four qualifying games, with the top 1-in-5 of the combined shifts advancing to Sunday’s play. LEGACY LANES: The fourth annual Mixed Doubles event is set for March 29, April 5 and 12 at Legacy Lanes and Lounge in Coshocton. Entry fee is $60 per team, with Saturday shifts at 3 p.m. and Sunday shifts at 12:30 p.m.
OHIO MATCHPLAY TOURNAMENTS: The next Ohio Matchplay Tournaments event is the Matchplay Madness tourney, seen for 1 p.m. March 22 at HP Lanes in Columbus. Entry fee is $75 prepaid or $125 the day of the event. Bowlers will roll four qualifying games on an OMT pattern with the field being cut to 1-in-4 for single-game match play rounds by seed.
