FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Clinton-Massie High School’s Mason Keck left with a national singles title as the U.S. High School Bowling National Championships concluded play Monday at Pro Bowl West Lanes.
The Ohioan stopped Archbishop Shaw’s (La.) Joshua Collins 196-178 in the title match to claim the win.
Ashland senior-to-be Max Oeken, fresh of the Arrows defending their national team title Saturday, finished 10th overall after surviving into the Round of 20 in the 378-player field. The Arrows’ Luke Rhine finished 21st, while Landon Dreibelbis finished 32nd.
In the girls division, Thomas Jefferson’s (Wash.) Laelah Tiquia took first place with a 201-192 victory over Malia Briggs of Chambersburg (Pa.).
The event drew schools representing 22 states for the team and singles events.

JTBA FINALE
HEATH — Lake High School’s Zachary Abbott captured the high average award for the season as the Junior Tournament Bowlers Association of Ohio (JTBA) completed its 2024-25 season with its 45th annual JTBA Championships at Park Lanes.
Abbott finished the season with a 206.41 average.
Marion Pleasant senior Nolan Ludwig was named the 18U bowler of the year while Fairport Harbor Harding’s MacKenzie Pilny won similar honors in the girls division with Magnificat’s Dottie Sayles taking high average with 192.78.
In other divisions, Parma Padua freshman Zachary Mayne received bowler of the year honors in the 15U division and Columbus’ Lydia Gordon earned girls honors in that division. Asa Wilson-Perry was bowler of the year in the 12U division.
The tournament format was four qualifying games before the respective fields in each age division were cut for double-elimination, one-game match-play rounds.
No. 11 seed Carter Colby captured the 18U boys division with a 159-156 win while Pilny took honors on the girls side with a 184-157 win over Delaney Sherwood.
Other winners included:
U15 boys: Kristian Briscoe topped Donovan Slappy 215-145.
U15 girls: Alyssa Bechtel topped Karley Stocker 221-191
U12 mixed: Asa Wilson Perry topped Aaron Cabiness 182-164.
The event drew 59 total entries.

OBC: The Ohio Bowling Conference will be holding its first Youth Scholarship and Recruiting tournament July 19 at Columbus Square Bowling Palace in Columbus. Entry fee is $50, and is open to all high school players with SMART scholarships being paid out.
