COLUMBUS — Four bowlers earned titles in the handicap and scratch divisions as the Ohio State USBC held its annual Buckeye All-Events Tournament at HP Lanes in Columbus.
All-events and scratch winners from all Ohio USBC-affiliated championships tournaments in both the Open and Women’s divisions were eligible to participate.
In women’s actual, Cincinnati’s Alexis Baker topped the field with 899 total pinfall, with Nelsonville’s Karen Morris taking second.
Locally, Massillon’s Mandi Testa took fifth overall with 827.
In women’s handicap, Garrettsville’s Melissa Deakins took honors with 1,036, followed by Columbus’ Wendy Michel with 1,001.
In the open division, Centerburg’s Joshua Stegemoller topped the field in actual with 991, with Dover’s Austin Reinerts taking second with 977. Norm Loescher of Russell was third with 961.
In the open handicap division, Willard’s Andy Clark topped the field with 1,052, followed by Woodsville’s Dan Weber with 1,017.
Among area players, Ravenna’s James Pischera Jr. was third with 994, and Norton’s Nick Conley was fifth with 983.
Bowlers rolled four games during the competition.
LEINDECKER TRANSFERS
Former Wooster High School bowling standout Abbie Leiendecker will be making a move to a new school beginning in the fall.
Leiendecker, who was a sopnomore at Louisiana Tech University last season where she bowled a season with her sister, Allie, has transferred to Jacksonville (Ala.) State,, which captured the 2025 Intercollegiate Team Championship this season and finished second to Youngstown State in the NCAA Women’s Championships
She will be joining former Triway High School standout Emma Yoder on the Gamecocks roster.
STARK CONFERENCE HOLDS OUTING
CANAL FULTON — The Stark County High School Bowling Conference is holding its inaugural golf outing June 21 at Lyons Den Golf Course.
Entry fee is $340 per team ($85 per golfer) for the four-person scramble, and includes golf, cart, lunch at the turn and dinner. There will also be giveaways, raffle baskets and contests.
This will be the conference’s main fundraiser for the season. See information below:
