NORTH CANTON — The Stark County High School Bowling Conference will open its 24th season on Nov. 14 with 19 teams participating during the 2025-26 season.
The conference officially will begin its season Nov. 15 with its annual SCHSBC Early Bird Tournament, set for 9 a.m. at a new site, Eastbury Bowling Center.
Conference play then will officially begin Nov. 17 with a full week of competition.
Other key dates for the upcoming season:
- The annual Alumni Tournament will return, with a date to be announced, either the weekend of Oct. 18-19 or 25-26, also at Eastbury Bowling Center.
- The first day of coaching, according to the OHSAA, begins Oct. 31.
- OHSAA Division II sectional play is tentatively set for Feb. 6 (boys) and Feb. 9 (girls), with district play on Feb. 20 (boys) and 21 (boys). Sites to be officially announced, but the district is tentatively set for Rebman Recreation in Lorain.
- OHSAA Division I Stark sectional play is tentatively set for Feb. 14 (boys) and 15 (girls), with district play Feb. 22 (boys) and 23 (girls). Sites to be officially announced, but the district is tentatively set for Rebman Recreation in Lorain.
- The OHSAA Division II state tournament is Feb. 27-28 and the Division I state event is March 6-7, tentatively scheduled for HP Lanes in Columbus.
- The annual SCHSBC All-Star Match is March 21 at Strike Zone Lanes in Canton.
- The Coach-Athlete Tournament will return March 28 at Apollo 3 Lanes in Green.
- The conference’s annual banquet and awards ceremony will be April 12 at Raintree Golf and Event Center in Uniontown.

BOWLING HOF ENSHRINEMENT
CANTON — Seven new members will join an elite group as the Stark County USBC Hall of Fame and Canton Amateur Sports Hall of Fame will hold their annual enshrinement ceremonies Sunday (Aug. 17) at the downtown DoubleTree by Hilton.
Tickets are $40. For information, contact José Rante at 330-323-5300. Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner beginning at 6 p.m.
The seven inductees in bowling for 2025 are in three categories, including:
- Performance — Chrissy Brady and Roger Webb;
- Recognition of Contribution — Jean Tondola Smith, William and Beverlee Palmer, David Boyd and Joe Sinay Jr.; and
- Golden Age Award: Ron Lemmo.
The bowling hall of famers will be enshrined that evening along with four new members of the Stark County Fumbleball Hall of Fame. Those inductees include Mitch Raebel, Richard Kleinhenz, Jason Norch and Tom Tender.
Also to be inducted into the Stark County Disc Golf Hall of Fame that evening will be Chris Pellegrino.
