COLUMBUS — Urbana left-hander and PBA champion Graham Fach stopped right-hander Chad Roberts 234-195 in the title match of the $80 Singles Eliminator $1,200 event Saturday at Sequoia Pro Bowl.
Roberts’ undoing was a lack of carry, leaving four 10-pin spares in the match.
Fach, the No. 16 seed following qualifying who won $1,200 in his win, had consecutive games of 289, 299 and 279 during the Rounds of 16, 8 and 4 heading into the title match. Roberts was the No. 7 seed.
After qualifying, the field was cut in half after each round according to one-game scores until the final two bowled for the title. Alex Jarvis and Shawn Spaulding II also were in the final four.
Blaine Arms was the qualifying leader, finishing with 1,039 total pinfall on the Sequoia Pro Bowl house oil pattern, with Chris Hankins finishing second (1,019) and Tony Throckmorton taking third (1,016).
The cut for the top 25 elimination round was at 922 (230.5 average) for the 120-player field, with tournament directors Jody Boyd and James Dalton Hiles paying the extra spot.

PARK CENTRE PRO-AM
The pro-am for the PBA50-PBA60 Park Centre Central Open at Park Centre Lanes in North Canton drew nearly 60 players on the event of the event.
Mickey Scott took overall honors with 1,457 total pinfall in the 9-pin, no-tap event which combined a player’s three handicapped scores with those of his three pro partners. Tristan Broom topped the adult division with 1,450, with Erin Murphy being high in the youth division with 1,442, and Ben Beitel was high in the Special Olympics division with 1,393 along with Brent B.

BAKER TRIO: The team of Michael Mossbarger, Adam Barta and Dan Higgins took first place in the 40-team field at the Eastway Trio Baker Classic last weekend at Eastway Lanes in Erie, Pa. Second place wen to the team of Patrick Brick, Alan Felmlee and Matt White. Team bowled 39 Baker games before the field was cut for the stepladder finals. “JIMMY HICKS” MEMORIAL SENIOR DOUBLES: A handicap senior doubles tournament is set for 11 a. m. Dec. 12 at Park Centre Lanes in North Canton for bowlers ages 55 and older. Entry fee is $110 per team, with handicap being 80 percent of 220. Teams will bowl three games, with the top four teams advancing to single-game match-play bracket play by seed. First place will pay $500, based on 40 teams. ROLLHOUSE SWEEPERS: The next event will be bowled on the 2019 U.S. Open No. 3 oil pattern and is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at RollHouse Parma with bowlers rolling four qualifying games before the top four or five advance to the stepladder finals. Entry fee is $40.
SURVIVAL TOURNAMENTS: Perry Township’s Paul Sanko III shot a 300 en route to a victory in the Survival of the Fittest: To the Victors Goes the Spoils event at Victory Lakes in Galion. Bowlers must hit a target score to advance after each round. Sanko finished first in a three-way match for a 235 target score to earn the win.
