Ohio Queens: Stout holds qualifying lead heading to match play

COLUMBUS — Rachel Stout, sitting second after the opening five qualifying games, earned the qualifying lead after 10 games in the 2026 Ohio State Queens tournament Saturday at Sequoia Pro Bowl.

Stout enters the match-play round after leading qualifying with 2,163 total pinfall, a 216.3 average and 46 pins ahead of second-place Malika Ashe (2,117), who led after the opening five games.

Megan Ashley, who was tied for 17th after the opening five games, earned the final match-play spot in 16th position with 2,020, finishing 20 pins ahead of Kelly Bishop.

Others in the top five include Sarah Enders (2,114), Trisha Reid (2,102) and Megan Duff (2,097).

Former Canton resident Jen Higgins, now living in Lewis Center, tied for seventh with 2,087.

The entire field of 67 players bowled five opening qualifying games before the field was cute to the top 34 for the second shift of five more qualifying games.

That field then was cut to the top 16 for today’s match-play rounds, which opens with the Round of 16 in double-elimination match play beginning at 9 a.m.

Duff is the defending champion. Stout will face Ashley in her opening match.
