RENO, Nev. – Braxton Dedmon of Smyrna, Tennessee, closed out his team event Saturday at the 2026 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships with a perfect game to add to an already exciting year on the lanes.
The 20-year-old two-hander started the day with games of 205 and 181 before posting 300 to finish with a 686 series at the National Bowling Stadium. He connected for the 27th perfect game of the 2026 event and sixth 300 in team competition.
Dedmon recently wrapped up his sophomore year at Cumberland University, where he was named Mid-South Conference (MSC) Bowler of the Year and helped the Phoenix capture the MSC Men’s Bowling Championships.
He finished the season in the top 30 for individual averages (213.6) across the USBC Collegiate landscape in the men’s field.
Dedmon finished his second appearance at the Open Championships with 590 in doubles and 579 in singles for an all-events total of 1,855.
The Open Championships is celebrating its 122nd edition in 2026 and making its 15th trip to Reno, Nevada. The 2026 event is scheduled to feature more than 55,000 bowlers and 11,000 five-player teams competing across 128 consecutive days at the National Bowling Stadium.
