
COLUMBUS — Beavercreek kept Ohio’s run of boys titles in the U.S. High School Bowling National Championships going by capturing the 2026 title earlier this week at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.
The Beavers, who defeated another Ohio team — Gahanna Lincoln — in the title match followed a two-year run by Ashland in claiming the title, which featured 77 boys teams from around the country, including 17 from Ohio.
Beavercreek stopped Lincoln 642-587 in the three Baker System game title match, shooting 244, 225 and 173 to Gahanna’s 240, 183 and 164.
Following qualifying, the team field was cut to the top 30 and then the top 10 and top four before the final two were determined. Coldwater and Centerville also reached the top 10 in the final standings.
Team Harlem (Ill.) captured the boys title by stopping Team Joliet (Ill.) in the finals. Beavercreek and Hillsboro earned top-10 finishes among Ohio teams in the 35-team field.
In the singles competition, Team Harlem’s Ashlin Teves defeated Bellefontaine’s Kyndallyn “Gracie” Hood to claim the girls title while Abram Monosmith of the Wood (tent.) stopped Jaden Kennedy of Tenn Supernova (Tenn.) to take the boys crown.

PBA: MORRIS, MOTE CAPTURE REGIONAL TITLES
Lance Morris and Simon Mote captured Professional Bowlers Association Central Region titles in recent weeks at two sites.
Morris captured his second overall regional title and second this season during the Buffalo Wild Wings Central Open in Heath.
Morris a 22-year-old two-handed righty from Beattyville, Ken., defeated Willowick right-hander Dean Vargo 2-0 in the title match, rolling games of 226 and 233 to Vargo’s 214-231.
Mote, a 24-year-old Laura two-handed lefty, captured the PBA Central Region Emerson Lanes Open in Parkersburg, W.Va.
Mote defeated Jeff Mann in the finals, with games of 248 and 224 to Mann’s 188 and 210 two claim the win. Again, Vargo earned a top-three finish, taking third overall.
