MINNEAPOLIS —In addition to the actual Junior Gold competition during the week in the Minneapolis area, other tournaments were available for players who were eliminated from the individual divisions to bowl.
The Surivivor Scholarship Tournament, a five-game event by division, was also held in Brooklyn Park.
The following area players had top-20 performances:
- Cuyahoga Falls’ Jonathan Rasch shot 300 in Game 3 engirt to 1,174 total pinfall to finish third with 1,174, missing the top spot by 27 pins in U18 boys;
- Akron’s Ryan Slusser finished 14th (1,128), with a high game of 246 in U18 boys; and
- Columbus’ Aaron Cabiness finished fourth (1,054), with a high game of 250 in U12 boys.
In the Junior Gold Qualifier, the following earned top 20 positions:
- Rasch finished fourth overall (1,174);
- Slusser finished 15th (1,128); and
- Cabiness was seventh in U14 (1,054);
Results have yet to be posted from the junior-adult tournament.

USBC: Open Championships complete run in Reno
RENO, Nev. — Final shots were made Sunday as the USBC Open Championships came to a close at the National Bowling Stadium.
The 2026 oil patterns for team and doubles-singles were released late Sunday night by the USBC following the event.
