CANTON — The College Bowl Tournaments series will begin its 10th season with a single event at 10 a.m. Sept. 12 at AMF Hall of Fame Lanes in Canton.
Entry fees for the events are $65, with bowlers rolling four qualifying games before the field are cut to the top eight for single-game match-play elimination rounds, with the final two meeting for the title.
The eight-tournament regular-season schedule includes four singles events and four doubles events, with two of those being over age-50—under age 50 tourneys. Entry fees for those are $130 per team, with the cut coming to the top four teams for match play.
Other payouts will be determined by the number of entries. One out of every 3.5 bowlers in the fields will cash.
Bowlers will have to bowl in at least four events during the season two be eligible for the year-end singles event, set for May 15, 2027, at Eastbury Bowling Center in Canton with added money to the prize fund.
PBA members and PBA50 Tour members with national titles are ineligible. Tournaments are bowled on house oil conditions.

PORTAGE ANNOUNCE HOF INDUCTEES
KENT — The Portage County USBC has announced its 2026 Hall of Fame inductees.
The following will be honored during ceremonies at 1 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Kent Elks:
Bowling service: Gary Heisel, Carl (Rick) Ewell
Bowling achievement: Eric Hughey, Chris Osborne, Jim Dukes Jr., Bill Bruce
Tickets for the enshrinement dinner and ceremony are $25 and can be purchased at Sky Lanes, Kent Lanes or Spins Bowl Kent. Tickets also are available from Portage USBC board members and hall of fame committee members.
