H.S. bowling: Ravenna, Norton take MAC Preseason titles; Wadsworth dominates in MCAAA; match results for Nov. 22

Ravenna High School’s boys and Norton’s girls came away with titles during the recent Metro Athletic Conference Preseason high school bowling tournament at Spins Bowl Kent.

In the boys division, Ravenna finished with 4,110 total pinfall in the event, which does count toward the MAC’s final standings. The Ravens were followed by Coventry (4,016) and Field (3,606).

The format was three regular games and six Baker System games in both divisions.

Streetsboro’s Conner Stevens was the top individual with 730, followed by Coventry’s Wade Allen with 706. Jeremiah Miller led Ravenna with 689, good for third overall and Jake Stefansic added 595.

The Comets had two other individuals in the top eight, including Andrew Naugle (648) and Aiden Jensen (630). Stevens and Miller tied for high game with 259.

In the girls division, Norton finished with 3,252 to top the eight-team field, followed by Springfield (2,985) and Streetsboo (2,564).

Individually, Springfield had the top players with Melania Martin (573) and Madison Knox (565) topping the field, followed by a pair of Norton players in Jenna Higgins (564) and Madylyna Mullet 541. Springfield’s Aubri Backward also shot 495, while the Panthers also had two other players in the top eight with Alaina Mullet (440) and Paige Sinker (439).

Martin had the high game with 225.

MCAAA TOURNAMENT
Wadsworth’s boys and girls captured titles during the Medina County Area Athletic Association Tournament recently at AMF Medina Lanes.

The boys event had seven teams, with four teams in the girls event, with Brunswick boom disqualified.

The Grizzlies boys finished with 3,115 total pinfall, with teams bowling three regular games and five Baker System games during the event. They were followed by Highland (3,872) and Medina Buckeye (3,588).

The Grizzlies girls finished with 3,207 to top Buckeye (2,864) and Cloverleaf (2,067).
