PLANO, Texas — Fourteen-year-old Tatum Lee of Minot, N.D., set the early pace in the 2025 Teen Masters Championships, which started Sunday.

All of Lee’s games were over 200, and he finished with a six-game total of 1,343 to lead the boys 15U Division at Plano Super Bowl.

He had games of 233, 217, 214, 223, 232 and 224, averaging 223.8 for the first round.

That left him 66 pins ahead of Malachi Wilson of Jonesboro, Ga., who was in second at 1,277. Carter Santangelo of River Ridge, La., who had the front nine strikes in a 276 game, was in third with 1,265.

Louis Shontz of Manchester, Iowa, led the boys 19-U division with a 1,341 total (223.5 average). He had a pair of 247s for his high games and only went under deuce once.

Braden McDonough of Coppell, Texas, closed with a 279 game and was in second with 1,288, just eight pins ahead of Peyton Bray of Atlanta, Ga.

In the girls competition, defending girls 15U champion Anna Antony of Farmington, Conn., and Grace Zuerner of Indianapolis were the early leaders.

Antony got off to a slow start but came through with a 245 in Game 5 to take over the lead. She finished with a six-game pinfall total of 1,132 and had a 68-pin lead over Josie Dambrino of Hoover, Ala., (1,064).

Zuerner got off to a fast start with an opening 246 and later added high games of 257 and 236. He finished with a 1,294 pinfall total for a 92-pin lead over Ohioan Mabel Adams of Defiance. Adams had high games of 247 and 225 for her 1,202 total. Jasmine Hall of Huntsville, Ala., was in third with 1,172.

High game of the day was rolled by Ethan Nguyen, who started the first round with a 289 game.

The field of 104 bowlers competed on a long oil pattern Sunday. They will bowl on a short pattern during Monday’s second round. In Tuesday’s final round, the competitors will bowl on dual patterns before the cut is made to the top 25 percent in all four divisions for Wednesday’s championship playoffs.
