H.S. bowling: Stark Conference sets all-star matches, annual banquet

CANTON — The 22nd annual Stark County High School Bowling Conference East-West All-Star Match is set for 10:30 a.m. March 21 at Strike Zone Lanes.

Players representing conference teams will participate in the matches, which will include two regular team games (five individual players) and five Baker System games, with total pinfall determining the champions.

Head coaches, as determined by team winning percentages during the 2025-26 season are Carrollton’s Wendy Russell (girls) and Joe Phillis (boys) for the East teams and Perry’sMark Boron (boys) and Canton Central Catholic’s Bud Stebbins (girls) for the West.

All bowlers will participate in at least one individual game.

Admission is free for the event, but there be fund-raising drawings conducted.

CONFERENCE BANQUET

UNIONTOWN — The 25th annual SCHSBC Banquet will be held at 3 p.m. April 12 at Raintree Golf and Event Center

The conference will honor its team champions, individual award winners and first- and second-team all conference selections during the event, in addition to announcing its players and coaches of the year for each of the three divisions for both boys and girls.

In addition, the 2026 SCHSBC Hall of Fame class will be officially enshrined. Members of the 2026 class include a pair of 2016 bowling alumni — Perry’s Amanda (Lincoln) Hunter and North Canton Hoover’s Preston Vukovich — along with current conference vice president and former Canton Repository staff writer and snieronbowling.com writer and creator Bill Snier.

Tickets, priced at $22, will be sold during the all-star match and will be available through March 28. Athletes and coaches are admitted free.
