
CANTON — Both West teams took leads after the opening team-game round to race to victory during the 22nd annual Stark County High School Bowling Conference All-Star Matches on Saturday at Strike Zone Lanes.
The format was two regular team games followed by five Baker System games.
Each player participating bowled at least one regular game with all players participating in Bakers. Teams were given medals and t-shirts, sponsored by Heighway Awards and Apparel, for their participation.
The boys West team, coached by Perry’s Mark Boron and Canton South’s Brian Gates, finished with 2,824 total pinfall, including 1,855 through its two regular games.
Canton McKinley’s Nickolas Halm led the West with a 419 series while Canton South’s Derick Fowler-Keagy had the high game of 224.
The East, which finished with 2,685, was led by North Canton Hoover’s Aiden Chetto with a 393 series and 212 game. The East was coached by Carrollton’s Joe Phillis and Hoover’s Nichole Wells.
The West girls finished with 2,645 to the East’s 2,461, including shooting 1,639 during the opening two games. It was coaches by Canton Central Catholic’s Jon Marchand and Jackson’s Bill Dunn.
Perry’s Arielle Clapper led the West with a 409 series and a 237 game. Carrollton’s Kaylee Russell was high for the East with 369 and a 219 game.

- The SCHSBC will hold its second annual Golf Fundraiser at 8 a.m. June 20 at Lyons Den Golf Course in Canal Fulton. Entry fee is $400 per foursome, which includes greens fees in the scramble format with lunch at the turn and dinner provided. There also will be drawings. See the flyer below. - The conference’s annual banquet is set for 3 p.m. April 12 at Raintree Golf and Banquet Center in Uniontown. Tickets, priced at $22, are available at Heighway Awards, 925 Pittsburg Ave, North Canton during business hours next week.
