COLUMBUS — Four champions were crowned in a field of 105 bowlers as the Ohio Bowling Conference held its inaugural Scholarship Tournament recently at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.
The conference gave prospective bowlers the opportunity to meet with coaches and gain information during the scratch event before holding a five-game tournament bowled on the Kegel Challenge Middle Road V2 oil pattern.
A total of $7,000 in scholarships were awarded during the event.
Champions by graduation year included: Jaden Brown (2026) 1,008 total pinfall; Pierce Gallagher (2027) 1,053; Greyson Garland (2028) 1,037; and Maya East (2029) 830.

STARK YOUTH EVENT
NORTH CANTON — The Stark County USBC is holding a youth singles fall tournament at 10 a.m. Aug. 10 at Park Centre Lanes.
Entry fee for the handicapped event (80 percent of 210 for all divisions based on last year’s book average) is $50 with scholarship money being awarded to SMART funds.
Bowlers will roll four total games with total pinfall determining places.

JTBA TO OPEN
COLUMBUS — The 46th annual Junior Tournament Bowlers Association (JTBA) Kickoff Tournament is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 10 at Columbus Square Bowling Palace.
Entry fee is $80 preregistered and $90 the day of the event.
There will be a five-game qualifying round for the scratch event, with between four and 16 bowlers in each division advancing to match play.
